For Indian students looking to become doctors, an MBBS in India is extremely competitive and costly. With only limited government-funded seats and tuition in some private colleges (as high as ₹50 lakhs- ₹70 million or more), a growing number of students has begun looking abroad for an alternative that won't break their bank account. Luckily, there are several countries with high-quality medical schools at a fraction of the cost—study fees start from just under ₹22 lakhs for all four years.
These include such countries as Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Armenia. They offer internationally recognised MBBS degrees, modern facilities for study to the top-grade medical facilities wherein students can practice their skills under the supervision of highly experienced doctors. This makes them perfect choices indeed for Indian students who face an expensive yet worthwhile degree.
In medicine, Russia has a rich heritage, Russia has been a destination for Indian students abroad for over 30 years. She also boasts first-class universities and safe living environments.
