For many prospective international medical students, particularly for Indian, Nepalese, and even some South Asian students, MBBS in Bangladesh is a great option. One of the main reasons is the cost; total tuition fees for the entire course of MBBS is usually between USD 32,000 to USD 52,000 - significantly less than what you'd pay at private medical colleges in India and in plenty of other countries. It's also worth mentioning that there are often no donation fees/capitation fees that some other countries indeed charge.
The quality of medical education from Bangladesh is good, and medical students following the curriculum and medical education continue to follow most, if not all, guidelines from the Medical Council of India (MCI), National Medical Commission (NMC), and other worldwide authorities like WHO as recommendations for the education of the courses and practices of obtaining a MBBS degree with global authority!. In many universities, English is only required for students from international backgrounds. Most Bangladeshi medical schools currently score consistently, that is, for FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) exam on a global level compared with their Chinese, Russian, or Ukrainian graduates.
Concerning culture, Bangladesh is quite similar to India in terms of language, food habits, and lifestyle, which also makes it easier for students to adapt. A significant advantage is that there is Indian-paramount food and a Pan-Indian social context. Many colleges will also have separate accommodation for female students, adding to the safety and a welcoming environment for students. Clinical exposure is great where students can get hands-on experience working in well-equipped government hospitals where patients are in abundance. Admission to medical school is a straightforward, merit-based process, and for Indian students, the only requirement is that they must qualify for NEET, but there is generally no entrance exam.
MBBS from Bangladesh provides a route to international opportunities; Indian students can take exams such as USMLE (USA), PLAB (UK), and other examinations, further enhancing their career options.
