Established in 2005, Batterjee Medical College (BMC) is a leading private institution located in North Obhur, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The college has positioned itself as a centre of excellence in medical and health sciences education and is among the most prominent private medical colleges in the Kingdom. It offers nine accredited academic programs including Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, and other allied health sciences. The college is recognized and accredited by the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) and the Ministry of Education, Saudi Arabia.
BMC’s strategic academic collaboration with the Saudi German Hospital Group offers students robust clinical exposure, ensuring they acquire both academic knowledge and practical training. Notably, the college's Medicine Program was among its first programs, launched in the same year as the college's inception. Since then, it has graduated nearly a thousand doctors and has consistently worked to evolve its curriculum to match international standards.
The MBBS program at BMC has been developed in collaboration with Maastricht University, Netherlands, focusing on outcome-based education, modern teaching methodologies, and effective student assessment systems. The program is structured into pre-clinical and clinical years. The preclinical years (first to third year) emphasize theoretical and laboratory-based knowledge, while the clinical years (fifth and sixth year) focus on hospital-based clinical training, supported by simulation and virtual hospital labs on campus. The final year includes an internship that students complete in affiliated government and private hospitals across Saudi Arabia.
Students are gradually introduced to clinical skills and effective communication from the early stages of their education. State-of-the-art training laboratories equipped with simulation technologies are provided to enhance interactive learning and promote close mentorship between students and faculty members.
Through its comprehensive programs, global collaborations, and research-driven environment, BMC continues to play a key role in training competent healthcare professionals capable of serving both national and international communities.
Batterjee Medical College offers a modern, student-centred approach to medical education with strong clinical exposure and international recognition. Its collaboration with Maastricht University ensures the adoption of international best practices in curriculum design, teaching methodologies, and assessments.
The MBBS program is not only focused on academic excellence but also emphasizes hands-on clinical experience from the early stages. The inclusion of simulation labs, virtual hospital facilities, and progressive learning techniques ensures that students are prepared for real-world medical challenges.
BMC's strategic alliance with the Saudi German Hospital Group offers a rich clinical training environment, which enhances the employability and competency of its graduates. The faculty includes experienced professionals from various countries, bringing a global perspective to classroom and clinical instruction.
Research plays a pivotal role in the college’s academic structure. With active research centres and funding opportunities, students are encouraged to participate in medical research projects that contribute to healthcare advancements.
The college also maintains high standards of student support, providing well-furnished separate hostels for male and female students, in-campus clinical training, and interactive mentorship to help students grow personally and professionally.
International recognition from FAIMER and WHO, coupled with a solid national reputation, makes BMC an excellent choice for students aiming to build a global medical career. Graduates from BMC are well-placed to pursue medical licensing and postgraduate studies internationally.
